Joel Malkin's Pick:

I was so angry with the Fins during and after they failed to show up at Sunlife Stadium for that humiliating loss to the Tennessee Titans, 37-3, last Sunday.

My first thoughts: If they played that badly, how would they look on the road, four days later? Then, I thought about this: They barely tried last weekend, or at least that's how it looked to me. Maybe it was like a "rest" game, where Miami just "went through the motions", but didn't break into too much of a sweat. If that's the case, then they should be rested and ready to go for Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills. But later I realized that was basically a sign that I was in denial.

This Dolphins team may no longer be the one we thought had a shot at the playoffs. Perhaps they are just "mediocre". That's how the Fins have been for many years, though mediocre would still be an upgrade from the team we've had the past few seasons.

Either way, I am not able to pick Miami, and I hope I am wrong. I AM looking for a better game from QB Ryan Tannehill on Thursday night. How could he play worse than Sunday?
