This is the spot where I'm supposed to write something about myself. Here goes...
I'm originally from Northern West Virginia and started working in radio when I was in high school. I took a hiatus from the airwaves in the 90's to join the US Army Infantry. I was stationed in Hawaii (25th ID) and in Washington, D.c. (3rd Inf Reg-Old Guard).
When I got out of the Army, I did some work in TV, and then landed back on the air at Eagle 107.5. After spending 10 plus years there, I decided it was time to head south, and here I am...livin' the dream in South Florida on 98.7 The Gater!

311's Unity Tour 2013 with Cypress Hill and G-Love & Special Sauce kicks off on July 2nd in Kansas City and will be hitting Cruzan Amphitheater in West Palm Beach on July 21st! WPB BONUS: we are one of the few stops on the tour that also includes Sublime with Rome and Pennywise!
I got a chance to talk with 311 bass player P-Nut this week and he said it's going to be a great 5 weeks of summer touring. 311 did a third installment of their 311 Caribbean Cruise (which is an insanely fun party on the high seas - video below) earlier this year, but P-Nut said they probably won't do another one of those until 2015 because next year they really want to focus on 311 day (March 11).
The band is currently working on a new album and they are really happy with the progress. P-Nut told me that they could probably release what they have right now and it would be "just a dandy album.” However, he only considers the project about halfway done and really wants to take a little more time to work on it so they can release a "sledgehammer of a head chopper off-er an album." He believes that there are “more songs in us” that will raise the quality level of the new group of songs.
If you were expecting the new album to drop this year, that's not going to happen, but considering they already have 12 songs for the new project and want to spend time making sure everything is perfect, it will be well worth the wait. P-Nut says they plan on releasing it on 311 Day in 2014, which just happens to be on a Tuesday. "It would be nice if it came out earlier, but I don't think we really want to miss that target date because it says 311 all over the calendar."
I also asked P-Nut how life as a dad has been treating him and he said he loves it. His boy turns 3 years old in September, and for Father's Day this year he went "fake-camping" in central California with his wife, his son, and his son-to-be!" Congrats from all of us on the new addition to the 311 family!
