This is the spot where I'm supposed to write something about myself. Here goes...
I'm originally from Northern West Virginia and started working in radio when I was in high school. I took a hiatus from the airwaves in the 90's to join the US Army Infantry. I was stationed in Hawaii (25th ID) and in Washington, D.c. (3rd Inf Reg-Old Guard).
When I got out of the Army, I did some work in TV, and then landed back on the air at Eagle 107.5. After spending 10 plus years there, I decided it was time to head south, and here I am...livin' the dream in South Florida on 98.7 The Gater!

I love this job!! You never know who's gonna call in. Yesterday was a great example...I was sitting at my desk when I got word that Scott Weiland was on the line in the studio. I grabbed the headphones and rushed back there to interview him, and I'm glad I did!
We talked about his current tour with The Wildabouts, and the new album he's working on with them.
And much to my surpirse, Scott also spoke what I would consider candidly about the lawsuit against his former band the Stone Temple Pilots who fired him back in February.
Of course he found out that he was fired from the Stone Temple Pilots on the internet, and told me they didn't follow the rules that were set down for letting a member of the band go. He called them using the name Stone Temple Pilots "ridiculous" and said they will have to buy him out of the company. "The lawyers will deal with it"
Scott also surprised me when he said "Rock and Roll doesn't sell" and that touring is the only way to make money.
Scott will be performing with The Wildabouts at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale this Saturday night, August 24th! Check back here on Sunday for photos from the show.
